Transitional housing provides temporary, supportive housing for individuals primarily facing homelessness. This is designed to be a longer stay with the full program taking a minimum of eight months. The goal of transitional housing programs is to provide individuals with skills, resources, and knowledge required to live a healthy lifestyle independently (such as finding employment, building financial literacy, developing life skills, etc.). We are not an emergency shelter given the structure of our program and cannot provide emergency shelter stays that may only be for a few nights. Our program is more than just a warm bed for a night. We are not a recovery program. Although we often work with individuals with a history of addiction or mental health challenges, we are not equipped to help individuals recover from these challenges. We are often the next step for someone who has just completed a rehab or recovery program and work closely with individuals leaving programs such as Avenues Recovery. Given our program expectations and purpose, there are things that may disqualify you. This includes but is not limited to being on the sex offenders list, receiving social security income, being on or applying for disability, couples, or taking Suboxone/Methadone/Narcotic Class Medications (and not being willing to discontinue use or change medication). Our homes are older houses, so one must be able to navigate stairs and bunk beds. We also cannot accept children or animals (including but not limited to pets, service animals, emotional support animals, etc.) into our homes.

We do not accept walk ins. Rather, you must first call our office (260-200-1372) to confirm that your qualify, there are open beds, and to complete the phone screening. If you qualify and we have open beds, an intake will be scheduled. If we are not a good fit or we do not have any openings, we can provide you with additional resources to reach out to as needed.

The intake process consists of the initial phone screen; if you meet the criteria discussed over the phone, you are then scheduled for your in-person intake appointment. This will include going through program guidelines and expectations, signing authorizations and releases, and being shown the residential facility. At this time, you will need to provide a photo ID, and proof of car insurance if applicable. When you arrive for your appointment, as long as you agree to policies and guidelines, sign appropriate paperwork, etc. it is expected you will enter the home at that time. Please have belongings with you, ready to enter the home.

To complete the program to the fullest, a minimum of 8 months is required. Men can remain in the home for up to 15 months. You may also choose to leave the program earlier but leaving prior to graduation results in not successfully completing the program.

We understand that you may have personal items you would like to bring with you. Although we do encourage you to bring items with you, there are some items that are not permitted in our home given the nature of our program or the living space. Be advised that you will be sharing a bedroom space with a roommate(s) and storage space is limited. You are more than welcome to bring: clothes, toiletries and hygiene items, phone and charger, wallet, pictures, sentimental items, cologne/body spray, small hobby items (books, diamond art, adult coloring books, crochet, etc.), vehicle. We do NOT allow the following items: personal blankets, pillows, other linens items, stuffed animals, weapons, aerosol cans, toiletry/medications/other items containing alcohol, game systems, electrical appliances (such as microwaves, coffee pots, etc.), no T.V.s. These lists are just a few examples. If you have a question about a specific item, please ask our staff upon contacting the office (260-200-1372).

Unfortunately, we do not have the means to provide transportation for those interested in the program or for residents in the program. If you have a scheduled intake, it is expected that you arrange your own transportation to our program and your scheduled intake. Once in the program, you are also responsible for your own transportation. At times, there may be bikes at the house to borrow but if you do not want to walk, you are responsible for arranging your own transportation - staff cannot provide you with transportation.

Unfortunately we cannot accept children into our home. Our home and program are not designed to house men with children.
